Happy Chocolate Cupcake Day - Yum!
You can now sell your completed songs direct from your member portfolio or from the ProCollabs Music Library.
To setup your music for public download and sales, the song's administrator must first setup a couple of details, such as setting the price. So if you've got a song or two and you're not the admin, then you'll need to shoot off a couple of quick pm's to get the ball rolling.
All relevant settings can be found by going to the Publishing Settings in the Datasheet. Please check out the tutorial and ask if you need any assistance.
Would you rather give your music away for free? You can do that too! Just choose from any one of the available Creative Commons licenses and visitors to site, your friends, family and fans will have a place where they can conveniently follow, listen, and download your music for free.
There's a big market out there and everyone's in need of some descent music. Whether for their YouTube videos or for other uses, giving away a song or two can be a great way to get your name out there.
And in the bigger scheme of things to come, the more music that is available in the ProCollabs Music Library for download the greater the chance that music supervisors, publishers, recordings studios, producers, record labels, songwriters, and even just music lovers will flock to the site when they are in need of it.
Flaunt your talents, be proud of your work, and make your songs available to the masses!
Got a song that needs recording or mixing? With the new Work for Hire project option you can now recruit talent and manage your project whilst retaining 100% of your copyrights. So why outsource when you can hire one of the talented members we have on the site?
The work for hire option can be set whenever starting a project, or at any time during a project when you need a specific skill. Check out the tutorial for details.

We've implemented a new uploader to the site! Now it is possible to upload multiple tracks simultaneously, making it a lot easier for those who have a plethora of audio to contribute! Also, you are now able to upload AIF files as well.
Side note: if anyone experiences any problems with the new uploader, please inform us ASAP. Alternatively, just purchase a PC and ditch the Mac. Kidding, not kidding! ;)
Tom Chianti, Chief Cheerleader and Mentor at ProCollabs is in the works of creating a podcast that will focus on the wonderful world of collaboration! Here is a quote from Tom discussing his ideas.
"These podcasts will be audio/video interviews usually with more than one member. They will not run more than an hour, unless the topic of discussion expands. Depending upon how much interest there is in this format "podcasts", will determine how many more podcasts concerning other topics will follow. I would like to think that as "Mentor", I've done a few more of these and it's my job to help make them work better for all if possible."

Two new features were added last month - the 'Upload New Mastered Track' option, and the 'Edit Metadata' option. Both can be accessed by the song administrator by going to the datasheet page.
So if ever there was a time you said, "Geez, I do wish I could upload a better mastered version of my song" - now's the perfect time to get it done - and put a price on it while you're there! This is particularly important for those of you who have uploaded MP3's instead of WAVs for their mastered track.
Unique Profile Link - you can share your direct profile link with your friends, family & fans by clicking the 'share my profile' button on your Dashboard bar. They can follow it to your profile, where they'll be able to purchase/download your published songs. Soooo ummm, make sure you make them available!
Likes, Kudos, Encouragement - this really shouldn't be a reminder, but... a little encouragement goes a long way. Leaving a few kind words or constructive criticism can really make a difference to someone. We are a community of passionate like-minded musicians who strive to create the best music we can. Being supportive of each other is very important, and gives us the motivation to continue to join & create projects.
Word of mouth counts. Spread the word about ProCollabs, if you enjoy collaborating with others, then invite your musician friends to join.
