If someone uploaded an audition, can other members see that audition and be able to temporarily use it to create other auditions?
IE,,, someone uploads a few lyrics documents, and they're waiting for acceptance, but a singer would need access to all those lyrics to find the best one for the tune, and when it's found and used, I would get a message from the singer saying which lyrics was used, and I can accept that one and discard the others. Or do I have to accept *all* auditions? Of course I don't have to accept the ones I don't like, but I'm talking about after I've rejected the ones I don't like, and what's left are choices for arrangers, singers, mixing engineers, etc etc to use, and once those have been selected and used by the artists, I can then discard what's left.

In general, no, others won't be able to see an audition; though, you can make auditions visible to the community, but this is a choice that you need to make when you first setup the project as you can't change the option after the project is setup.
However, for lyrics, I don't think members would be able to see them anyway, as they require downloading (?) and auditions can't be downloaded - though, I can't remember if they can click a link and view lyrics or not.
That said, if the vocalist is already a part of the project, they can see any auditions that are posted to the project.
In the past, I have accepted all the submitted lyrics into the project, and explained to the lyricists that it will be pending a decision from the vocalist.
Accepting an audition into a project is not a guarantee that it will be used in the final song, so doing this for lyrics is probably the best approach, as it stands. So long as its clearly communicated up front.
Btw. When you do accept any lyrics in, it is a good idea to post the text in the comment for the track so you can just view them without downloading.

I did manage to download the lyrics document, it was in docx format for MS word, which presumably, if people are using Chrome, then chrome has no way of displaying docx documents and instead asks to download it, just by clicking on the doc icon.
