Have you ever watched a commercial and found yourself humming the song for the rest of the day? Or have you ever heard a radio jingle that you just couldn’t get out of your head?

Welcome to the 1 Minute Jingle Challenge!

The idea is to create a memorable jingle that is no more than one minute long. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it’s a bit more challenging than you might think. Despite the fact that your tune is only one minute, you’ll still need to make a lasting impression – which means, it needs to be catchy!

---------------------------------------
PROJECT BRIEF
Produce a one minute long jingle. Think summer time, holidays, and feeling carefree!

Length: 1 minute ( +/- 3 seconds )
Genre: Any. Open to both song/lyric and instrumental music.
Mood: Positive, carefree, optimistic, happy.
Tempo: Upbeat
Deadline: Thursday, 9th June.
----------------------------------------

How to Enter

To enter the challenge, create a project and invite other members to collaborate. For newer members, don’t forget to check out our tutorial on “Starting a Project” - https://www.procollabs.com/tutorials/starting_a_project

Then, you must post in this forum the title of your jingle and the names of your team members, and publish your completed jingle into the Music Library no later than midnight, Thursday, June 9th, 2016 (EST).

All entries will need to meet the project brief stated above to be eligible for entry into the challenge.

The Challenge Rules

* The song must adhere to the specified project brief (see above)
* The song must be written and performed as a collaboration with no less than two members
* Only one entry per team is allowed. And, with the exception of audio engineers, a member can only collaborate in one team
* Your project must be a "Public or Public by Invite" type project
* Any member can enter. Moderators and the like sadly cannot
* Your song must be original, 100% written, recorded, and produced by the team
* Your cover art can be created by you or a team member – or can be a Creative Commons image sourced from a non-member - please make sure you give proper credit to the artist/photographer in the project’s credit section.

We will not be assigning the teams, so you can freely invite and collaborate with whoever you like. However, a member can only participate in a single entry.

There’s also no registration time cut-off. So members can decide to take up the challenge at any time prior to the submission closing date.

Judging

For this challenge, entries will be judged by a quartet of songbirds on a single criterion: the extent to which your tune causes day-long humming and is memorable.

Your entries will be scored on a scale of 1 to 4. 4 being the highest.

To score the entries for this challenge, our judges will be asked to listen to each track twice on the morning of day one, and then once again in the afternoon. They will then judge the entries on the morning of day 2. Yes, we are really going to put your jingles to the test :)

In addition, bonus marks will be awarded for each of the following:
+1/2 mark for on-time completion and submission to the Music Library
+1/2 mark for properly and appropriately completing all datasheet information when closing the project (e.g. title, description, mood, genre, tempo, key, lyrics, credits, copyrights, etc.)

Reminder: There is no need to refer to the challenge in your song’s title or description. Complete the project’s metadata as you usually would for presentation in the datasheet. When closing the project, this information should be checked by all collaborators. Projects that refer to the challenge will lose a mark!

Therefore, a total of 5 marks can be scored overall. Challenge results will be posted on June 13th.

The winning team will receive an additional 1 GB of space for their current membership plan. Everyone who enters will receive a stunning ProCollabs Grammy for their profile! And, as usual, bragging rights have the most value :)

As has been the case previously, this challenge is being posted as a community challenge and is intended to be an opportunity for members to reach out to each other, introduce yourselves, get involved, and to basically just have some fun. So go ahead and put the best teams together for this one. We want to see even more participation this time around and we really hope you will enjoy this one!

And don’t hesitate to post here or contact Raven or MonkeyC for any help, guidance or support. Good luck..

This jingle challenge wasn't supposed to happen for a few months - but when you mentioned possibly having shorter songs for the challenges, we pushed it ahead. So thank you for the nudge!! :))

A bit before our time but our parents were probably familiar with it here in the tri-state area. I'll give the challenge some thought. ;-)
