Description: This song is inspired by my favourite song, Broken Crown by Mumford and Sons. The lyrics received 5/5 star rating in the UK Songwriting Contest 2022.
Project brief: I am looking for a longterm professional relationship with an artist/producer. The goal is to create and release albums on streaming platforms, mainly Spotify. I will provide lyrics and you will do the rest. Interested? Add music and vocals to The Art of Whittle (see lyrics).
For audio file uploads, please use: 24 bit, 44.1 kHz
You say that the blue of the day Gives you something to spare That the stars beneath your feet Are somehow your fate And so you say That the road you destroyed Cannot touch me again With no beginning and no end I put knives to those words To start just a little Meanings are thinning out The art of whittle But I won’t forget where they’re from I’ll never forget you Let the music revive everything That’s been lost in you I wonder if your weakness Has shut your eyes And should your lungs be filling I’ll be surprised When everything grows different At the next light My limits are to be stretched I will make you proud I put knives to those words To start just a little Meanings are thinning out The art of whittle But I won’t forget where they’re from I’ll never forget you Let the music revive everything That’s been lost in you
