Whazzup ProCollabers!
As we cruise into our 5th month, we just want to take this time to say thank you to all of you who've donated through PayPal to the site's development and continue to do so. We appreciate you guys so much!
Site Design
As you may have noticed, we've been designing the site one section at a time. We recently designed the public view of the Artist/Community page. We've gotten a lot of compliments on it; we're so happy you like it. If you don't see your pic on the interactive page, then you should refresh your browser – about 50 avatars show at a time. If you still do not see your avatar, it could be that you have not chosen a profile picture. So go ahead and upload a pic, we need to show you off!!
We've also changed the Lounge design and will continue to make improvements in the upcoming weeks. So stay tuned and remember, if you have any ideas, we are always open to suggestions, so feel free to contact us at any time.
Site Activity
We're pleased to say that site activity has started to pick up a bit this month as new members have joined and become active. Participation (in any form) is critical at this early stage as membership is limited to the talented few (that's you guys..) and only you can make the community thrive.
Yes, you pretty much have the place to yourselves right now so to get things rolling you're going to want to either start a project, and/or jump in to an existing one where your talents are being sort. There are currently more than 70+ open projects looking for collaborators in both the writing and the song's performance/recording. If you have started a project, you can now search for specific talents in the Community Find Artist section and then invite members to join in. If you are looking for a project to join, just go to the Active Project's page and search from there.
And with that said, if everyone were to start at least one project, and contribute to at least one project, we'd already have a very active community capable of producing some pretty awesome music!
On a related topic – we've received a couple of complaints about invites and PM's being ignored by some members. In some cases it can be that email notifications are turned off so members that aren't signing in regularly are not aware of the invite. We've now mitigated this to some degree by mandating that project invites, auditions, and PM related emails can no longer be turned off in your email notification settings.
However, as a matter of good etiquette and as a courtesy to other members, if you know that you cannot or will not be available to participate or contribute to projects, please turn off your invitations. If you do leave them on and someone sends you an invite, please be courteous and reply to them. There is nothing more frustrating than sending someone an invitation and getting no response in return. So please be aware of that. You can easily turn your invitations off or on by clicking on the 'microphone' icon next to your profile name on your Dashboard page.
