I recently read this article about sculpting keyboard pads in, (of course), "Keyboard Magazine". I will post the link for your perusal. Please let me know if the link does not work for any reason.

The really interesting parts for me were about just using different voicing's to help sculpt the pad to sit better in a mix.

This is a very good place to find the latest plugs from almost everyone. It also is one of the best places to find excellent free plugins:

And here is an example. Tokyo Dawn has both free and pay versions of some of their software. Of course more bell and whistles with the pay version. Check it out for yourself:
