No politics. No religion. It's all about the music, people! So keep it clean, polite, and be sure to read our Community Guidelines before posting in the forum.

Hey folks,

Turns out I’ve been hanging around here for quite a while… though lately I’ve been about as active as a broken metronome. Times have really changed since I first stumbled into this whole home-recording circus. Feels like most people either found fancier ways to make music… or just vanished into thin air.

For me it’s been a rollercoaster: frustration, laughter, and the occasional burst of productivity. A couple of buddies originally dragged me into recording. Funny story: I actually took over this account from someone else years ago and just let it roll without ever introducing myself. And yeah… I was kinda mean to Danny back then (sorry, girl ?). But honestly, back then nothing was working, and appreciation felt like a rare Pokémon.

People love to have sky-high expectations, but recording a full track, playing all the parts, mixing it, that’s a lot of work. Most of the time you get little to no feedback, or you spend days on something and… crickets.
At some point I just decided to do it all myself. Still not perfect, but good enough for me.

Of course, I’m still happy to jump in and help if anyone needs me. But I rarely commit to full projects anymore...it’s just too much time and effort to prepare, record, and then end up with a rejection… or find out the person already got all their tracks from somewhere else. And let’s be real: there are more and more people who write eight random lines of lyrics that make zero sense and then show up like, “hey, I need a whole band to record me a song.” You all know the type. ?

So yeah, that’s my little update after all this time. How’s survival going on your end?

Aha, I knew you were a different person.  I was thrown off by the username, but also knew you weren’t the same (from our past interactions). I actually collaborated with ilja around 2020. I really liked the project -  I wrote and sang to his track, as a duet with Ryan, but then the song disappeared, and his username changed.  Well, whoever you are - nice to meet you.

And yes, things have definitely changed as far as collaboration sites. As a matter of fact, Lee and I have been having some heavy discussions regarding the future of this site. There are so many people who join, yet do nothing musically, or interact with anyone. It seems that sites like this are fading into oblivion. Sad but true.  We provide the platform and tools, but it’s up to the members to form a community and collaborate.

Hopefully things will change for the better.  Wishful thinking.

By the way, I don't ever recall you being mean to me.

Don’t give up just yet, keep things running and stay on it. Summer’s always a bit quiet, but once winter comes I’m sure more people will be back online. I really believe it’ll pick up again.

Oh, and by the way... I’m Ilja’s daughter :))
